The Challenger Division of Little League is a program for mentally and physically challenged kids, helping them to enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities.
Challenger players get to experience the very best parts of sports: being part of a team and pushing themselves on the playing field. They get to cheer for their teammates and receive cheers for their achievements. Challenger families get to watch their kids put on a uniform, get outside and participate in America's Pastime.
Any individual with a physical or developmental challenge may participate. If an individual can participate in the traditional Little League Baseball or Softball program with reasonable accommodations they should do so. The Little League Challenger Divisions accommodates players of all ages 4 and up.
Today more than 30,000 children participate in more than 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide. You do not have to live or go to school within a local league to play in their challenger program. For more information, see About The Challenger Division at the Little League web site.
